However if your financial condition is such that you need to find a real gem to be able to pay the rent there is not much joy in this exercise.

The most important point here is that buying and selling old comics is a specialty type of business where research, knowledge and most important of all a real love of the product are what can propel you to success. However if you have no fondness for the product and are only hoping to one day find that pot of gold without really knowing what you are looking for then you will most likely fail.
