CIS Corporation, designer and manufacturer of industrial cameras for machine vision and security camera applications, announces the release of their newest High Definition, 1280p x 720p Color Board Camera, the DCC-SSC01HD32! At a diminutive size of less than 1.75 inches square, it includes two available boards (32mm x 32mm plus 42mm x 42mm), and weighs less than 1.4 ounces. This miniature high quality, high-speed machine vision camera features a selectable HDTV 720p/60, 720p/59.94, 720p/50 format. Operating with a 1/3 type, 1.3M CMOS sensor type, its multiple functions include electrical zoom, and a long exposure shutter function permitting the capture of clear images even under low illumination.

Fundamentally, a board camera is a fixed lens mounted on a circuit board, and is commonly used in mini cameras, dome cameras, and in the creation of hidden cameras. These cameras are available with pre-mounted lenses with a fixed iris for mounting by the end-user, or sold un-packaged.

Board cameras, because of their size and abilities, are widely used in inspection equipment, surveillance systems, TV conferencing, security, broadcast, traffic and IP monitoring applications. For use in the entertainment arena, we have all seen these cameras in instant photo machines, and as the eyes of humanoid robots in toys. The DCC-SSC01HD32 Color Board Camera is a superb image quality and performance camera, and is ideal in these situations.

The popular Sony FCB-H11 block camera is an example of a block camera where size is also an issue. With it's ability to expand application solutions by providing high-quality images, utilizing high sensitivity multi-format video outputs, the FCB-H11 is a key example of the ever-expanding technology for perfect video performance.

Custom camera housing configurations for Sony block cameras are available, as are optional camera modifications, cables, power solutions, and interfaces to meet the needs of each situation. A universal block camera controller for the Sony FCB Series of block cameras is available, and is ruggedized for use in harsh environments. Programmable to control a majority of these Sony camera functions, the size and ease of operation of these controllers make them suitable where space and control capability are issues.
