It's no secret the US economy continues to bleed from the financial crisis that began in 2007. Regardless of the government's efforts unemployment is at an all time high. Foreclosures continue to rise and with the US national debt at $14 trillion dollars countries around the globe are unloading dollars from their currency reserves.
China and Germany have already expressed concerns about the latest QE2 by the Federal Reserve in late 2010. Because of the poor decisions by our government, today our country is experiencing the birth pains of the next economic collapse.
Although our economy has gone thru many ups and downs, the US is not prepared for what is to come. - The End of the US Dollar.
When the US financial system can no longer sustain itself the average American will look to the same government who got us in this mess to the fix the problem. Unfortunately when this happens the government will be able to do very little too help. It will not have the real money to provide public assistance which much of society has always relied on.
For too long people have come to expect our government to solve all the problems we face and politicians in their desire to win elections will promise to solve them. We see and hear this in election after election. In 2008 the slogan was "Change We Can Believe In". In reality nothing has really changed. We are spending more than ever. And "change" does not mean keeping the same chairman of the Federal Reserve who by the way was appointed by former president George W. Bush (but thats a different story).
Regardless of who is president or who becomes chairman of the Federal Reserve the damage is already done. The United States of America is at the point of no return. This recent QE2 of pumping billions of dollars into the economy only accelerates the inevitable.
While our government doesn't speak publicly of such economic collapse (or possibility of it), the rest of the world is already looking for alternatives.
On November 8th 2010, Robert Zoellick, president of the World Bank called for debates on returning to some sort of global gold standard once again. They know the US economy is on life support and without any immediate and drastic change the biggest economic collapse will soon take place.
Key factors pointing to such financial meltdown:
- FED continues to print monopoly money flooding the economy with fiat currency
- The US Military is fighting wars we cannot afford
- Baby Boomer generation retiring
- China no longer buying US debt
- Countries unloading from US reserves and buying gold and silver instead
- Social Security / Medicare Broke
- Increasing Taxes / Inflation
- National Debt increasing by $4.17 Billion per day
Once the general public is aware of such colossal crisis we are in panic will set in, in my opinion our US Dollar will no longer be the world currency reserve. From one day to the next the once the "might dollar" will become worthless. This will in effect trigger hyperinflation and precious commodities such as gold and silver will skyrocket in value.
Republican or Democrat, no politician can correct this massive crisis we our in. The day is coming when the US will lose its spot as the world power and China is waiting patiently for that day to come. No, this will not be the end of the world but it will feel like it for many who are stuck holding US Dollars.
