Some economist predict that in the wake of the post bubble period, the currency will become so worthless that governments will have to go back to backing the dollar with gold again. Who do think is going to become wealthy when that happens? Backing the currency by gold is not only practical for the economy, but excellent for gold investors because the value of gold will go up considerably. In today's economy, the pressures of the United States exceeding debts will inflate the US dollar therefore making it even more worthless, more money will be printed to pay off the debts, especially the debt owed to China. As the falling US dollar loses trust in flat rate currency, Gold will gain. The financial industry and world governments have promoted flat currencies at the expense of the real value of gold in the mind of the public for years. Moving forward the investment perception of Gold from the public will only improve.
