Things to Know about Roll Off Sizes:

 

10 Cubic Yard Container: A box 12 feet long, eight feet wide, and four feet high is a 10-yarder.

 

20 Cubic Yard Container: A 20-yarder is 22 feet long, eight feet wide, four and a half feet high.

 

30 Cubic Yard Container: A 30-yarder is an optimal size container.

 

40 Cubic Yard Container: The 40-yarder is a monster roll off meant for real renovation, demolition and construction work.

 

‘Container' and ‘roll off' are both popular terms for these garbage containers. Containers are rented in standard cubic yard sizes, which are better known as ‘yard' or ‘yarder'. Instead of being termed cubic yards, they are commonly referred to as "yard" or "yarder." A 40 cubic yard container is referred to as a '40-yarder.'

Check with Proper Authorities if It's Going on the Street: Your local parking enforcement office or building permit office can give you information about permits needed if you're putting the container on the street. This is a real concern, and you definitely need to clear this up. If you have room to place it on your own property, you won't have these worries.
