Even as Gold Prices rose over $1,176.70 today, in Detroit News it was announced: Detroit to demolish neighborhoods.
One quarter of Detroit neighborhoods are being torn down... The City announced today that nearly one third of the cities neighborhoods are EMPTY, that is roughly 45 square miles! It is a trend that I think will continue in other cities as well...
In Florida, entire subdivisions sit empty, slowly depreciating and disintegrating due to lack of maintenance. Houses require maintenance, expensive maintenance!
As the fairy tale goes: Once upon a time, real estate was the place to put your money. Well, the wolf has eaten little red riding hood, in the very house her grandmother left to her!
Compare the maintenance of real estate, versus the maintenance of gold and silver numismatic coins. Compare the appreciation value of a house vs. coins. Lately, housing has not been doing very well has it?
I think it is important to compare the Gold and Silver Numismatic coins that were minted at the same time as those houses in Detroit were built. You will discover that the coins are doing MUCH better at increasing their value.
You should know that it is not uncommon for rare gold and silver numismatic coins to increase in value three to five TIMES! It is not unusual for that to happen sooner than paying off a 30 year mortgage on a house.
The current state of the economy suggests that we should reconsider the true value of real estate. Real Estate is an investment, not an asset. The root word of investment is "IN"! So when you put your money into an investment, be aware of what else you may have to put IN to it later.
Gold Prices continue to rise so you might think Gold is a good investment, but you have to buy low and sell high to make a profit. The volatility of the market can make this dangerous. Good news though: Gold and Silver Numismatic coins are still very stable. In fact, Banks still allow Gold and Silver Numismatic coins to be used as collateral for loans, because they are still true assets - not investments.
An asset has a known value. MANY of us have made the mistake of thinking that real estate should be treated as an asset, since its "value" kept going up. The value of real estate is no better than the value of stocks and bonds. Its value hinges on opinions, fads, location and politics - Risky! If any one of these influences change, so does the value of your house! You better know when to buy and when to sell and do it quick before someone else does - otherwise they will leave you holding the losses!
When buying coins or even gold and silver bullion, beware of E-Bay! Do not be misled by the E-Bay vendors selling common un-graded and un-certified gold and silver coins.
ONLY buy certified and graded gold and silver coins that have been certified by one of the top 4 grading services. There are only 4 top tier grading services today.
These are:
ANACS - American Numismatic Association Certification Service
PCGS - Professional Coin Grading Service
NGC - Numismatic Guaranty Corporation
ICG - Independent Coin Collectors
Be Warned: There are DOZENS of non-legitimate grading services on the market!
These organizations are sometimes called basement or garage "slabbers". They are notorious for dramatically over grading their coins because the slab them themselves and put whatever grade they want on them.
THESE unscrupulous slabbers love eBay! Do not be their next victim! Learn from the recent lessons in Real Estate, and start accumulating Wealth the tried and true way.
Buy Gold and Silver Certified Numismatic coins from reputable sources, and leave E-Bay for buying your next broom...
To Your Success!
