Reviewing the Intimus J1811 Padding Press
Reviewing the Intimus J1811 Padding Press
A Padding Press is used to bind loose pieces of paper together on one end with adhesive. You can see pads of paper created with padding presses all over the place; the yellow note pads popular in businesses, stationary, and more. Stacks of paper are placed in a large vice and are clamped into place. While in the padding machine, padding compound (glue) is applied by hand using a padding brush to the back edge of the paper stack. Once the bind is dry, the stack of paper is removed and can be cut down to size.
One of the most popular padding presses on the market today is the Martin Yale, Intimus J1811. This user-friendly padding machine makes it easier than ever to handle small padding jobs; it is perfect for homes, offices, and schools! The J1811 Pad Press is built for durability with metal construction, while its angled design ensures an even and square edge every time. The Intimus J1811 has a padding capacity of 5-3/4" H x 17-3/4" W sheets, and approximately 4,000 to 7,000 total sheets of paper in a stack (20lb paper). NCR and carbonless paper can also be bound using this padding press; to avoid marks on your carbonless paper, tighten the clamps slightly looser than you would with standard paper. Measuring at just 19" x 11" x 13", the J1811 Padding Machine can fit almost anywhere. In addition, this Padding Machine only weighs about 18 pounds, making it easily moved throughout the office. The Intimus J1811 Padding Machine is user friendly and widely used by schools, churches, real estate offices, and more.
Most Popular Applications: Note Pads, Booklets, Scratch Paper Pads, Letterhead Pads, Stationary, etc.
Benefits:
- The Intimus J1811 Padding Machine was built with high quality metal parts that were built to last.
- The J1811 angled design ensures a straight and even edge every time.
- The J1811 Pad Machine is user friendly for all ages, making it the perfect choice for school crafts and projects.
- The J1811 is small for easy storing, and lightweight for easy transporting.
- The J1811 Padding Machine is fast; just jog your stack, line it up, tighten the clamps, and apply the pad glue. In just minutes the pad is done!
Limitations:
- The J1811 Padding press was designed for low volume usage, so it is missing some nice features found on heavier duty models, such as the lazy Susan that allows for spinning of the press, which eliminates having to walk around the table to apply the glue.
- The J1811 has a padding capacity of sheet sizes up to 5-3/4" H x 17-3/4" W, and approximately 4,000 to 7,000 total sheets per stack. This capacity is not meant for high volume production usage.

Passages from the American Note-Books (Dodo Press) $19.85 Nathaniel Hawthorne (1804-1864) was a 19th century American novelist and short story writer. He is seen as a key figure in the development of American literature for his tales of the nation's colonial history. Nathaniel Hawthorne was born on July 4, 1804, in Salem, Massachusetts, where his birthplace is now a museum. William Hathorne, who emigrated from England in 1630, was the first of Hawthorne's ancestors to arrive in the colonies. Hawthorne attended Bowdoin College at the expense of an uncle from 1821 to 1824, befriending classmates Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and future president Franklin Pierce. Hawthorne is best-known today for his many short stories (he called them "tales") and his four major romances written between 1850 and 1860: The Scarlet Letter (1850), The House of the Seven Gables (1851), The Blithedale Romance (1852) and The Marble Faun (1860). Another novel-length romance, Fanshawe was published anonymously in 1828. Hawthorne's work belongs to Romanticism, an artistic and intellectual movement characterized by an emphasis on individual freedom from social conventions or political restraints, on human imagination, and on nature in a typically idealized form. |

Underground Press Syndicate $86.03 Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Underground Press Syndicate, commonly known as UPS, and later known as the Alternative Press Syndicate or APS, was a network of countercultural newspapers and magazines formed in mid1966 by the publishers of five early underground papers: the East Village Other, the Los Angeles Free Press, the Berkeley Barb, The Paper, and Fifth Estate. Walter Bowart of the EVO took the lead in inviting the other papers to join, and initially it was hoped that the syndicate would sell national advertising space that would run in all 5 papers; but these hopes were soon dashed. The San Francisco Oracle, The Rag, and Illustrated Paper (a psychedelic paper published in Mendocino, California) joined soon afterward, and membership grew rapidly in 1967 as new papers were founded and immediately joined. In the South, the first to join was The Inquisition (Charlotte, North Carolina). By June 1967, a UPS conference in Iowa City hosted by Middle Earth drew 80 newspaper editors from US and Canada, including Liberation News Service.
