Fans may have to be more careful when buying tickets from Live Nation and Ticketmaster, as a number of fans recently found their tickets had been sold to more than one person. Despite press about the secondary market and the dangers of buying tickets from resellers and assurances that the only safe place to buy tickets is the hall or Ticketmaster recent concert-goers were forced to abandon seats they bought and go to another region.

The problems began with a concert by Toby Keith set for Aug. 24. At midnight, Toby Keith CD-release sales included a code pre-sale so fans could buy tickets before they are made available to the public.

Eight tickets purchased with codes from the CDs in April produced some misleading results, according to a client who wished to remain anonymous. When ticket holders arrived at the center tweeter in Camden, New Jersey, they had no trouble getting through the door. They conducted their place, where to their surprise, they had company.

"That never happens," said Doug Nguyn Office Live Nation Philadelphia, which owns the Tweeter Center. "Well, this happens rarely. It was probably a computer glitch."

The notes were sold to two by Live Nation. After one of the fans dealt with the customer service for over a half hour and missed the band opening, he was allowed to return to his original seat.

Another duo was not so lucky. After two hours on customer service, and lack most of the show, they were transferred to a new set of seats. This came bouncing around two or three times during the rest of the show, to the detriment of the small part of the concert for which they were present.

"It seems like human error, someone opened the same seats for the same envelope, "said vice president of communications for Live Nation, John Vlautin.

Unfortunately, the "excitement" does not stop there. A second pre-sale a month later to the same concert by Toby Keith, provided this time directly by Live Nation without the participation of the target, produces a similar situation.

"A series of notes was open to target allocation, and one for regular, "said Vlautin. "They were opened as two separate events, so when the customer came to the door, they were read as different events as they had different event ID, This is how they have done all the way to their seats. "

Although the tickets were purchased in April, guests this time received a call just 48 hours in advance to let them know that their tickets had been sold twice. When they arrived, they still had problems with their tickets at will-call. Although they were finally able to get their replacement ticket, he took a phone call to a ticket manager. It took some time before half an hour to return to the concert.

"If it's something the computer, it could be anyone's fault," said Nguyn. "He who printed the tickets, could be our ticket office or Ticketmaster. With a presale this could be a different system, we have tons of different ticketing systems. Sometimes fan clubs do, which could interfere. "

Although the question was this time in a different place, the problem is treated the same way that Live Nation operates the two arenas.

But the ticket holders that buy tickets months in advance to ensure a good seat, there is hope that their efforts will be rewarded early risers. With little choice once the concert begins, they are forced to miss part of what they paid significantly money to see, and have no guarantee they will be able to return to their seats promised.

Leaving the determination promoter which is a seat that is "equal" to that originally purchased may leave fans with little assurance they will do what they have paid.
