Rhodesian Pound $79.66 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The pound was the currency of Rhodesia from 1964 until 1970. It was subdivided into 20 shillings, each of 12 pence. The Rhodesian pound was introduced following the breakup of the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland, when Southern Rhodesia changed its name to simply Rhodesia. Palestine Pound $100.37 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Palestine pound funt palestinai was the currency of the British Mandate of Palestine between 1927 and 1948. It was divided into 1000 mils (Arabic: Arabic:, Hebrew: Hebrew: ). The Palestine pound was also the currency of Transjordan until 1949 and the West Bank until 1950. Until 1918, the region known as Palestine was an integral part of the Ottoman Empire and therefore used Turkish currency. Following the establishment of the British mandate of Palestine, the Egyptian pound also circulated alongside the Turkish money until 1927. This created an unsatisfactory situation which required a currency reform. The Palestine pound was introduced, equal in value to the pound sterling. Pound (Mass) $79.66 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The pound or poundmass is a unit of mass used in the imperial, United States customary and other systems of measurement. A number of different definitions have been used, the most common today being the international avoirdupois pound of exactly 0.45359237 kilograms. The unit is descended from the Roman libra (hence the abbreviation lb); the name pound is a Germanic adaptation of the Latin phrase libra pondo a pound weight. Usage of the unqualified term pound reflects the historical conflation of mass and weight resulting from the near uniformity of gravity on Earth. This accounts for the modern distinguishing terms poundmass and poundforce. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Tennoe, Mariam T./ Henssonow, Susan F. Binding Type: Paperback Number of Pages: 118 Publication Date: 2010/08/14 Language: English Dimensions: 6.00 x 9.02 x 0.28 inches |

Jersey Pound $81.25 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The pound is the currency of Jersey. Jersey is in currency union with the United Kingdom, and the Jersey pound is not a separate currency but is an issue of banknotes and coins by the States of Jersey denominated in pound sterling, in a similar way to the banknotes issued in Scotland and Northern Ireland (see Banknotes of the pound sterling). It can be exchanged at par with other sterling coinage and notes (see also sterling zone). For this reason, ISO 4217 does not include a separate currency code for the Jersey pound, but where a distinct code is desired JEP is generally used. Both Jersey and Bank of England notes are legal tender in Jersey and circulate together, alongside the Guernsey pound and Scottish banknotes. Although the Jersey notes are not legal tender in the United Kingdom, creditors and traders may accept them if they so choose. Author: Miller, Frederic P./ Vandome, Agnes F./ McBrewster, John Binding Type: Paperback Number of Pages: 104 Publication Date: 2010/07/19 Language: English Dimensions: 5.98 x 9.01 x 0.24 inches |

Pound Ridge $13.21 Pound Ridge began as an isolated town where shoe making, dairy farming, and basket making were the main occupations. It is blessed with being located slightly away from main highways, industrial development, and commercial sprawl, and during its first 200 years of settlement, Pound Ridge's isolation was also its greatest asset. In the late 19th century, the town had key local industries that provided employment for its residents, but by the time of the Great Depression, the town's population had dwindled to around 500 residents. During the 1960s, Ye Great Meadow on Long Ridge Road was the alternate site for the United Nations world headquarters. Pound Ridge features rarely seen archival photographs of important events and buildings, as well as maps and historical narrative that span 300 years. |
