Investing in Krugerrand Gold Coins
1967 was the first year that Krugerrand gold coins were first minted in South Africa. The krugerrand gold coins were minted for gold ownership but they were also used as the currency. For that reason it was minted in a durable gold alloy which is why it is a slightly darker shade of yellow compared to the other gold bullion coins.
It is the current spot price that gives krugerrand gold coins there value, unlike other gold bullion coins which also have a face value. In history it is only the krugerrand bullion coin which has ever got its value in this manner. Also up until this point no other gold coin had measured exactly one ounce of fine gold.
In many Western countries the krugerrand was illegal to import throughout the 1970's-80's but the law changed in 1994 and people around the world began to take ownership of the coin. 90% of the gold coin market was the krugerrand in 1980. Soon other countries began to follow suit and began to mint there own national gold coins. Britannia Gold Coin, Canadian Maple Leaf, American Golden Eagle, Australian Nugget.
It was the president of the old South African Republic Paul Krugman that bears the face on one side of the coin. On the other side of the coin one of the countries national symbols the springbok.
Precious Metals are turning into the biggest investment opportunity in this lifetime, making it now easy for a complete novice to gain huge financial benefits. There is arguably no better investment today than the Precious Metals sector.
Every day more and more currency is flooding the economy and with interest levels with no place to go there is going to be a huge problem, one being inflation which will be reaching new record levels. The Royal Bank of Scotland in the UK has recently received another 25.5 Billion pounds. That is a new bank bailout record of 45.5 Billion pounds and no one is sure how long it will last until more money has to be 'printed'.
I think new investors should not just take any one persons advice when investing, whether it be in real estate or with Krugerrand Gold Coins. Look at what other countries are doing and there is only one real opportunity today.

Coins of the Manx Pound $84.44 Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Government of the Isle of Man issues its own Pound sterling coins. (See Manx pound for details of the islands currency.) The coins are minted by Pobjoy Mint Limited. Although intended for use on the Isle of Man, these coins often appear in circulation within the United Kingdom as the coins match the dimensions of the UK counterparts. As well as producing noncirculating commemorative designs, the Isle of Man regularly changes the designs on the circulating coins. One reason for this is to increase sales to collectors, which can be an important source of income in small countries. Author: Miller, Frederic P./ Vandome, Agnes F./ McBrewster, John Binding Type: Paperback Number of Pages: 104 Publication Date: 2011/02/18 Language: English Dimensions: 5.98 x 9.02 x 0.25 inches |

Rhodesian Pound $79.66 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The pound was the currency of Rhodesia from 1964 until 1970. It was subdivided into 20 shillings, each of 12 pence. The Rhodesian pound was introduced following the breakup of the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland, when Southern Rhodesia changed its name to simply Rhodesia. The Rhodesian pound replaced the Rhodesia and Nyasaland pound at par and the coins and banknotes of this earlier currency continued to circulate. Jersey Pound $81.25 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The pound is the currency of Jersey. Jersey is in currency union with the United Kingdom, and the Jersey pound is not a separate currency but is an issue of banknotes and coins by the States of Jersey denominated in pound sterling, in a similar way to the banknotes issued in Scotland and Northern Ireland (see Banknotes of the pound sterling). It can be exchanged at par with other sterling coinage and notes (see also sterling zone). For this reason, ISO 4217 does not include a separate currency code for the Jersey pound, but where a distinct code is desired JEP is generally used. Both Jersey and Bank of England notes are legal tender in Jersey and circulate together, alongside the Guernsey pound and Scottish banknotes. Although the Jersey notes are not legal tender in the United Kingdom, creditors and traders may accept them if they so choose. Author: Miller, Frederic P./ Vandome, Agnes F./ McBrewster, John Binding Type: Paperback Number of Pages: 104 Publication Date: 2010/07/19 Language: English Dimensions: 5.98 x 9.01 x 0.24 inches |

Massachusetts Pound $81.25 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The pound was the currency of Massachusetts until 1793. Like the British pound sterling of that era, the Massachusetts pound was subdivided into 20 shillings, each of 12 pence, but the Massachusetts and British pounds were not equivalent in value. British and other foreign coins were widely circulated in Massachusetts, supplemented by locallyproduced coins between about 1652 and 1682 and by local paper money from 1690. The paper money issued in colonial Massachusetts was denominated in pounds, shillings, and pence. Initially, six shillings were equal to one Spanish dollar. After years of high inflation, in 1749 Massachusetts withdrew its paper money from circulation and returned to specie. Massachusetts once again began issuing paper money after the American Revolutionary War began in 1775. The state currency depreciated greatly and was replaced by the U.S. dollar in 1793. Author: Miller, Frederic P./ Vandome, Agnes F./ McBrewster, John Binding Type: Paperback Number of Pages: 120 Publication Date: 2010/07/19 Language: English Dimensions: 5.98 x 9.01 x 0.28 inches |

Jamaican Pound $68.51 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The pound was the official currency of Jamaica between 1840 and 1969. It circulated as a mixture of British currency and local issues and was always equal to the British pound. The Jamaican pound was also used by the Cayman Islands and Turks and Caicos Islands. The history of currency in Jamaica should not be considered in isolation of the wider picture in the British West Indies as a whole. See Currencies of the British West Indies. The peculiar feature about Jamaica was the fact that it was the only British West Indies territory to use special regional issues of the sterling copper coinage. Exceptions to this are a copper penny issued in the Bahamas in 1806, and also the four pence groat coin which was specially issued for all the British West Indies, and later only for British Guiana. The earliest money in Jamaica was Spanish copper coins called maravedes. Lebanese Pound $81.25 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Lebanese lira is the currency unit of Lebanon. It is divided into 100 piastres French but inflation has eliminated the subdivisions. The plural form of lira, as used on the currency, is either lirat or the same, whilst there are four forms for qirsh: the dual qirshan, the plural qirush used with numbers 310, the accusative singular qirsha used with 1199, or the genitive singular qirshi used with multiples of 100. In both cases, the number determines which plural form is used. Note that before the Second World War, the Arabic spelling of the subdivision was (girsh). All of Lebanons coins and banknotes are bilingual in Arabic and French.
