A Message From Bob And Penny Lord To Men And Women Of Faith
Copyright (c) 2010 Bob and Penny Lord's Site
We believe the Lord speaks to us in many ways, and if we listen, we can hear Him loud and clear.
The Lord speaks to us through His Prophets. Isaiah is a powerful messenger of God.
We hear just what we need to hear when we need to hear it. We heard words of encouragement from the Lord today through this Holy Man.
The following is today's reading from the Prophet Isaiah" (29:17-24)
Thus says the Lord GOD: But a very little while, and Lebanon shall be changed into an orchard, and the orchard be regarded as a forest! On that day the deaf shall hear the words of a book; And out of gloom and darkness, the eyes of the blind shall see. The lowly will ever find joy in the LORD, and the poor rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
For the tyrant will be no more and the arrogant will have gone; All who are alert to do evil will be cut off, those whose mere word condemns a man, Who ensnare his defender at the gate, and leave the just man with an empty claim. Therefore thus says the LORD, the God of the house of Jacob, who redeemed Abraham: Now Jacob shall have nothing to be ashamed of, nor shall his face grow pale. When his children see the work of my hands in his midst, They shall keep my name holy; they shall reverence the Holy One of Jacob, and be in awe of the God of Israel. Those who err in spirit shall acquire understanding, and those who find fault shall receive instruction.
Now family, don't for a moment think that this takes us off the hook. Let's not say to ourselves, "Oh well, God's going to take care of everything.
We can just continue living the way we have been."
We have real enemies out there, who hate us and everything we stand for, and they are working overtime to try to destroy our Christian values, and our way of life. No, we believe that God is going to save us from our enemies by changing the hearts of men, by making us accept the fact that we have to fight for the things we hold dear, for our country and our Faith. The way we will become strong enough to defeat the enemy is through prayer and good works.
We can't necessarily convert the hearts of the enemy, but we can convert our own hearts. That's how the prediction in Isaiah in today's readings will come about.
Don't say "It's too late. We can't change things." Remember, to quote Adlai Stevenson, "The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step." Don't wait until tomorrow. Take that step! Do it now! We love you.

Penny Dreadful $17.62 Penny Dreadfuls were popular, cheaply produced 19th century magazines filled with brutal and sensationalist tales. In her uncompromising second collection of poetry, Vancouver poet Shannon Stewart revisits their grisly spirit through a series of meditations that examine the medias obsession for luridness, be it tabloids or respectable newspapers. At the centre of the book is the story of accused serial killer Robert Pickton. In poems of great psychological risk-taking, Stewart tracks the missing women of Vancouvers East Side and describesusing a voice by turns gritty, funny, shrewd, and broken-heartedhow the gruesome details of their reported murders seep into her role as a mother and wife. Fable-like, ribald, and packing a powerful anti-puritanical punch, Penny Dreadful furnishes us with unsentimental X-rays of the contemporary world and its sundry terrors. |
