Nickels One

You cannot swing a dead cat these days without hitting somebody who wants to buy your old gold. Driving along any commercial street will inevitably find you at least one storefront or pawn shop that loudly offers to buy your gold and gold jewelry.
But now, there is a party plan, like a Mary Kay or Tupperware party event you can have at your home. Call all your girlfriends and have them bring their old gold jewelry to the party. A gold buyer will be at the party, and he will pay spot cash for your gold.
Here are the problems with selling your gold to ANYONE for cash.
1. What you have right now is a commodity of appreciating value...GOLD. It is not in the form of currency. Most, if not all, is in 10K, 14K or 18K, which are blends of gold mixed with alloys like silver. 24K is 99% to 99.999% pure and rarely found in anything but coins and bars.
2. The gold buyer is going to test your gold for its carat weight, and then using a math formula, will calculate exactly how much pure gold is in your jewelry.
3. He will deduct the cost of melting it down as well as any other expenses he can think of.
4. He will pay you a wholesale amount for your gold which can be as little as 25% of its true value.
5. Worst of all, he will pay you in Federal Reserve dollars, which are inflating and LOSING THEIR VALUE.
6. If you go to a party, you have NO CHANCE to shop around for the best price for your gold. That makes you a sucker, not a wise asset manager.
So, how could you structure selling your gold jewelry as a winning strategy?
1. Exchange your gold for gold coins. If your jewelry has 0.10 ounces (a tenth of an ounce) of gold in it, exchange your jewelry for a tenth-ounce gold coin of 99.999% purity. Same goes for other weights and denominations like a twentieth ounce, quarter ounce, half ounce or a full ounce or more.
2. Accept the Federal Reserve notes as payment. Many gold buyers do not sell coins. Then go to your favorite gold coin dealer and purchase gold and silver coins in various denominations.
In both scenarios, you have taken your commodity gold and turned it into hard currency. When the economic collapse comes, you will have hard money that will allow you to survive.
Your commodity gold in your jewelry is like found money...like finding a $20 bill in the pocket of your old jeans. So treat it like it's not part of your income. Don't blow it on consumable items. SAVE IT!
Here's another valuable tip. Gold's spot price is above $1,100.00 per ounce, but silver's price is above $15.00 an ounce. You can buy a bunch more silver coins with your money than you can buy of gold coins. Both are hard money...both are denominated in monetary denominations, like nickels, dimes, quarters, half-dollars, dollars and higher coin denominations. But while $1,100 will buy a single one-ounce gold coin, it will buy 73 ounces of silver.
When's the last time you heard the sound of silver or gold coins jingling in a pouch? It's addictive, and it will make you feel great to know that you have real, hard, sound money saved that won't deflate, and will likely continue to grow in value.
If you buy gold and silver coins at present-day prices, and they appreciate in value, you'll be looking like the smartest guy around.
So don't fall for the "Sell Your Gold" home party gimmick. Why allow yourself to get ripped off? Turn your gold into coins. You'll be glad you did.
