GM High Value Engine $78.07 The High Value engine family from General Motors is a group of Cam in Block or Overhead valve V6 engines. They use the same 60 vee bank as the 60 V6 family they are based on, but the new 99 mm (3.9 in) bore required offsetting the bores by 1.5 mm (0.1 in) away from the engine centerline. These engines (aside from the LX9) are the first cam in block engines to implement Variable Valve Timing, and won the 2006 Breakthrough Award from Popular Mechanics for this innovation. For the model year 2007 the 3900 engine features optional displacement on demand, or what is now called Active Fuel Management which can deactivate one bank of cylinders under light load to increase economy. It was rumored GM would produce a 3valve design, but never came to be. These engines are produced primarily at the GM UAW factory in Tonawanda, New York. Value Grid $70.1 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The value grid model was proposed by Pil and Holweg as a means to show that the way firms compete has shifted away from the linear value chain way management theory has traditionally thought about value chain management. The advantages of a valuegrid framework, as opposed to value chains, is in allowing companies managers to strategize and coordinate operations. Common nonlinear value chain strategies include influencing demand, modifying information access, exploring multitier penetration, managing risk, seizing value, integrating value, creating new value propositions, exploiting value chains across tiers, pursuing pinchpoint mapping, and defining demand enablers. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Tennoe, Mariam T./ Henssonow, Susan F. Binding Type: Paperback Number of Pages: 76 Publication Date: 2010/08/20 Language: English Dimensions: 6.00 x 9.02 x 0.18 inches |

Value Proposition $58.94 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles A value proposition is an analysis and quantified review of the benefits, costs and value that an organization can deliver to customers and other constituent groups within and outside of the organization. It is also a positioning of value, where Value = Benefits Cost (cost includes risk). The creation of the value proposition is a work of strategy and the outputs of the value proposition creation process, ie. the value proposition statement and template, are not themselves communicated externally. These can be used in a variety of ways such as in marketing communications material or in sales proposals. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Tennoe, Mariam T./ Henssonow, Susan F. Value (Philosophy) $79.66 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles In philosophy, value is a property of objects, including physical objects as well as abstract objects (e.g. actions), representing their degree of importance. The study of it is included in value theory. Similar to that ethics may be regarded as a subfield of philosophy, ethic value may be regarded as a subgroup of philosophic value. Ethic value denotes somethings degree of importance, with the aim of determining what action or life is best to do, or at least attempt to describe the value of different actions. It may be described as treating actions themselves as abstract objects, putting value to them. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Tennoe, Mariam T./ Henssonow, Susan F. Value Judgment $70.1 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles A value judgment is a judgment of the rightness or wrongness of something, or of the usefulness of something, based on a personal view. As a generalization, a value judgment can refer to a judgment based upon a particular set of values or on a particular value system. The term value judgment can be used both in a positive sense, signifying that a judgment must be made taking a value system into account, or in a disparaging sense, signifying a judgment made by personal whim rather than rational, objective thought. Value Conversion $70.1 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Value conversion is the act of converting one type of value or financial instrument into another type of negotiable value. In the securities profession the definition of conversion value is very narrowly defined as the positive difference between the market price of a convertible security and the price at which it is convertible. The larger topic of Value conversion is relevant to the managing of intangible assets or intellectual capital. It refers to the act of transforming financial to nonfinancial value or an intangible asset into a financial asset. Intangible asset management has largely focused on valuation of intangible assets like trying to assign a financial value to an asset such as reputation. The theme of value conversion also runs through social exchange theory and more classical views of exchange value. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Tennoe, Mariam T./ Henssonow, Susan F. Value (Law) $79.66 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Value within the context of law, particularly with respect to contracts, is a concept closely related, but not identical, to that of consideration. At common law, certain transferrable obligations were only enforceable if the transferee had acquired them for value. Under the rules of equity, the rights of a bona fide purchaser for value would not be interfered with. State courts of various jurisdictions in the US adopted varying definitions of what constituted value. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Tennoe, Mariam T./ Henssonow, Susan F. Value (Hardcover) $42.04 Value is intended to give managers an accessible and short guide to first the foundations and then the applications of corporate foundations. Not bogged down in math equations or heavy analysis, the book is a much more qualitative approach to what the authors consider a lost art. The first section discusses the four foundational principles of corporate finance: 1. Value is driven by growth, ROIC, and the sustainability of these; 2. Share price is driven by expectations for future performance; 3. Price is driven by the value conceived by others; and 4. One must use the pizza principal to decide whether value has really been created. The pizza principal says you can get more pizza by either making the pie bigger or by taking a share of other pies. The second section applies the theory of value creation to our economy. The authors argue that real value creation comes from innovation and competitive advantage, which manifests into high returns on capital and growth. In the third section of the book, the authors discuss ways to maintain and grow value through mergers, acquisitions, and portfolio management. The final section addresses how to ensure that your company has the right governance, performance measurement, and internal discussions to encourage value-creating decisions. |

Ethic value denotes somethings degree of importance, with the aim of determining what action or life is best to do or live, or at least attempt to describe the value of different actions. It may be described as treating actions themselves as abstract objects, putting value to them. Value Type $70.1 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles In computer science, the term value type is commonly used to refer to one of two kinds of data types: Types of values or Types of objects with deep copy semantics.Elements of Programming defines a value to be a sequence of bits, called datum, together with its interpretation. A value type, then, is a correspondence between a set of datums and a set of abstract or concrete entities sharing characteristic attributes. The set of entities is sometimes called a species. For example, a value type call it small int value can establish the correspondence between a sequence of 16 bits and integers values from 65,536 to +65,535 through a twos complement representation. Value (Poker) $92.4 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles In poker, the strength of a hand (how likely it is to be the best according to the rules of the game being played) is often called its value; however, in the context of poker strategy the term is more often used to describe a betting tactic, a bet for value. This bet (or raise) is intended to increase the size of the pot, by inducing opponents to call. A bet for value is in contrast to a bluff or a protection bet (though some bets may have a combination of these motives). Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Tennoe, Mariam T./ Henssonow, Susan F. Value Premium $58.94 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles In investing, value premium refers to the greater riskadjusted return of value stocks over growth stocks. Eugene Fama and K. G. French first identified the premium in 1992, using a measure they called HML (high booktomarket ratio minus low booktomarket ratio) to measure equity returns based on valuation. Other experts, such as John C. Bogle, have argued that no value premium exists, claiming that Fama and Frenchs research is period dependent. Value Menu $70.1 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles A value menu is a group of items on a fast food restaurant menu that are, in the US, usually priced in the 1.00 to 1.49 range. In nonU.S. markets, a value menu typically has prices set to reflect the approximate value of one U.S. Dollar. The value menu is unique in that the items are usually priced lower than most of the other items on the menu. The portion size or number of included items with the food are usually but not always related to the price. The consumer ultimately decides what to get based on what the menu offers and consumer preference, and the value menu appeals sometimes to those that desire a quick meal without other products such as beverages and other side items that are included in full meals that necessarily increase the overall price. Value (Marketing) $79.66 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The value of a product is the mental estimation a consumer makes of it. Formally it may be conceptualized as the relationship between the consumers perceived benefits in relation to the perceived costs of receiving these benefits. It is often expressed as the equation: Value = Benefits / Cost. There are parallels between cultural expectations and consumer expectations. Thus pizza in Japan might be topped with tuna rather than pepperoni, as pizza might be in the US; the value in the marketplace varies from place to place as well as from market to market. Value Averaging $70.1 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Value averaging, also known as dollar value averaging (DVA), is a technique of adding to an investment portfolio to provide greater return than similar methods such as dollar cost averaging and random investment. It was developed by former Harvard University professor Michael E. Edleson. Value averaging is a formulabased investment technique where a mathematical formula is used to guide the investment of money into a portfolio over time. With the method, investors contribute to their portfolios in such a way that the portfolio balance increases by a set amount, regardless of market fluctuations. As a result, in periods of market declines, the investor contributes more, while in periods of market climbs, the investor contributes less. In contrast to dollar cost averaging which mandates that a fixed amount of money be invested at each period, the value averaging investor may actually be required to withdraw from the portfolio in some periods. Ruin Value $97.19 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Ruin value is the concept that a building be designed such that if it eventually collapsed, it would leave behind aesthetically pleasing ruins that would last far longer without any maintenance at all. The idea was pioneered by Albert Speer while planning for the 1936 Summer Olympics and published as The Theory of Ruin Value. The intention did not stretch only to the eventual collapse of the buildings, but rather assumed such buildings were inherently better designed and more imposing during their period of use. The idea was supported by Hitler, who planned for such ruins to be a symbol of the greatness of the Third Reich, just as Greek and Roman ruins were symbolic of those civilizations. A number of other cultures have also planned for the far future and built structures which are intended to become planned ruins. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Timpledon, Miriam T./ Marseken, Susan F.
