Should You Get A Hospital Grade Breast Pump?
Breastfeeding your baby is naturally the best for nourishing baby, bonding with baby, and nurturing baby. However, having a baby does not necessarily mean you will be able to quit working. Most moms don't want to quit breastfeeding when baby is 6 or 8 weeks old and mom returns to work. (Although breastfeeding for only 6 weeks will provide baby significant benefits even if stopped at this point.) For moms that work, choosing the right breast pump is important. Before you choose, you need to consider how often you will use the breast pump, where you will be using it and how long you plan to continue pumping for your baby. If for some reason, baby is unable to breastfeed but you still want to provide breast milk, you will be pumping several times a day – every time baby feeds. Moms who will be pumping several times a day probably need to consider a hospital grade breast pump.
Breast pumps have different accessories that may make pumping easier, such as double collection kit, which allow simultaneously pumping of both breasts. Hospital grade pumps are the most efficient pumps available and more closely simulate the sucking of baby. This decreases cycle time and maintains or increases milk production. However, hospital grade pumps are expensive and can cost as much as or more than $1,500.
Hospital grade pumps are designed to prevent cross contamination since they are intended to be used by more than one mother. Each mother must purchase and use her own collection kit. For this reason, it's possible to rent hospital grade pumps, and just purchase the collection kit. Pumps may be rented from hospitals, a lactation consultant, or state aid programs. These pumps generally are more durable and if purchased come with a warranty of up to 5 years. Hospital grade breast pumps are also heavy and bulky and may be hard to carry around.
It's agreed that breast milk is best for baby, with natural breastfeeding the optimal choice. However, if you can't breastfeed all the time, a breast pump is an excellent solution. Careful choosing of a breast pump will make the pumping less cumbersome.

Language, Proof and Logic [With Software] $21.05 This textbook/software package covers first-order language in a method appropriate for first and second courses in logic.
