                             How to keep your teeth white and shining?

 

          All of us want to live with the time.  If you stick on to your old methods and habits,  you would be dubbed as old fashioned, out of date and ultimately a moron. In most  material cases, it is true.  But, you can't apply that to your wife; she remains the same wife and unreplaceable, even after decades.  Anyway, forget all that.  This article is about ‘renewing' your teeth.

 

          I used to be a smoker years back..  A smoker's teeth are always  somewhat shady.  I usually  scrubbed   off  the  brown  trace  with a knife or a blade every month.  I agree this was a crude method. "Why don't you go to a dentist?" told my wife one day.   "You can't have this kind of appearance when you are in a foreign country…?"  Yes, at that time I had received a foreign posting under the United Nation Commission to French Indo China.

 

        Agreeing to the idea I took an appointment with a dentist in my hometown, which  was a  low level town.  This was in the Fifties. This dentist looked to be a village  model.  His dental chair was a simple office chair with a make shift back rest. His drilling equipment looked most primitive. He used a pedal, as if it was sewing machine, to operate  the drilling bit.  "A slow process," I felt. 

 

       Half way through, I felt like getting up and running away. He was supposed to remove the grey stain on my teeth, the front teeth to be precise. But he pressed the drill so hard on my poor teeth that I thought the enamel would chip off. He would hold my chin hard with his left hand and move the drill bit sideways.

 

      When he finished – oh was I happy it was over ! – I sighed with relief and examined my four front teeth.  The grey stuff continued to appear there. "I could have done a better job with my blade and knife," I felt and  complained to wifey.  "All right, all right," she cringed. "Any way  it's better than before," she consoled me.

 

      "But, my teeth are paining, dear?  He had put too much of  force on their root, I should think," I had remarked.  The result was, some 5 years later, all the front teeth started shaking and I had to get them removed.

 

       As regard the whiteness of my teeth, a grand old aunt examined them and gave a  prescription.  "Eat these sugar cane pieces, sonny," she advised me. "These?"I queried with a scowl on my face.  "What will sugar cane stub do to my teeth.?"
"Why don't you try it?  No harm.  That's an eatable stuff…."

 

          Then, then, after some  ten minutes. I witnessed a miracle.  My front teeth were white and shiny without a blemish.  It was as charming as the pulp of a coconut or even  like snow on mountain tops.

 

          "See? See?" the grand aunt dug at me. "While we have such excellent  grandma remedies, why do you people go to a doctor?" she remarked.

 

   And this is my advice too.  You will have your enamel damaged if you go to a dentist for  ‘teeth cleaning'. Sugar cane are available in all parts of the world. Bank upon it for your dental hygiene and health. Use no chemical like peroxide and the rest.
