Green Jobs - Provide opportunities for career
Let's face it. As the years go by our oceans and the skies are more polluted by various contaminants (if nobody takes action soon) will make the Earth less able to sustain life. And there may come a time when life would no longer exist.
It is fortunate that many countries are taking additional measures to save the environment by implementing energy policies that promote the production of electricity from renewable energy sources like wind and solar energy instead of using fossil fuels. And with these energy policies in place, there is also a huge opportunity to create the greatest need "Green Collar" jobs for people, especially those who were laid off from companies because of the current global economic crisis.
United States, President Barack Obama has launched a campaign towards the promotion of alternative energy and reduce global warming while at the same time hoping to create millions of new jobs for people in the country.
In fact, Obama at the start of his administration, published an economic recovery plan which would also support the generation of Green Collar jobs that would not only help preserve natural resources, but also revive the economy. In fact, five billion stimulus plan will focus on a low income "weatherization" program, two billion the search for electric cars and five hundred million dollars to prepare and train people to be able to manage the green collar jobs.
To further promote its campaign for a greener earth, the Obama administration to launch the first program in the country that would allow offshore projects to produce electricity from wind and ocean currents. And the energy that is harnessed from these projects could provide at least twenty per cent of total electricity needs of the United States in 2030. At the same time, this could create at least 250,000 job opportunities for people across the country.
As there is a huge opportunity for many green jobs to become available in the near future, schools now offer courses to prepare people in such occupations. Those who were laid off from manufacturing companies and construction, for example, are now returning to school because they anticipate growing demand for environment, sustainable jobs.
One of the schools that offer training for Green Collar Jobs is San Jose City College in Silicon Valley, California, where he is a class that learns to install solar panels and wind turbines set. In fact, the instructor mentioned that due to the popularity of this class, the waiting list has reached more than double.
There are also other colleges, not only in California but also in other states who are currently expanding their course offerings to include training programs to meet the anticipated demand for green collar workers. And with the support of the Obama administration and financing of these types of training programs, more will be trained to perform such work.
So even if the effects of the economic crisis still weighs on us, and policies that will be adopted to ensure that there is growth or Green Collar jobs are not yet solidified addition, there is a strong likelihood that you or someone that you know will be used in a sort of call Green Collar jobs sometimes in the near future. 1,000 Dollars and an Idea: Entrepreneur to Billionaire $28.06 Self-made billionaire Sam Wyly is a natural storyteller. In this candid, engrossing memoir, he recounts the experiences that led him to establish and expand companies on the leading edge of advancements in technology, energy, retail, and investments over the last five decades. From growing up in rural Louisiana on the family cotton farm during the Depression, to founding a pioneering computing company, to parlaying his success into major national retail chains, Wyly describes the decisions and strategies with which he's created his unique path. Starting with University Computing in Dallas in the early 1960s, Wyly reveals the drive and dealings that took him from one success to another, including founding Sterling Software, taking on the mammoth AT&T monopoly, growing the small chains of Michaels Stores and Bonanza Steakhouses to over a thousand locations each nationwide, co-founding the Maverick Capital and Ranger Capital hedge funds, and founding Green Mountain Energy, the largest provider of cleaner energy in America today. But he also writes frankly about failures, what he learned from them, and the tactics that ensured his business survival through tough economic times. In new chapters written for this expanded edition, Wyly discusses the "Great Crash of 2008" in historical perspective, offering insights on the causes of our current financial crisis and the path to recovery--including the importance of green energy for the future. |
