Dating in the Dark!
Just when you thought that internet dating companies had exhausted all the different dating methods, dating in the dark is set to be the newest dating game for singles to enjoy.
Dating in the dark is set to truly test those who claim that looks don't matter. Where certainly not saying that only ugly people participate in dating in the dark events, but this is the first dating concept where you meet a potential date, chat and get to know each other, all before discovering before their appearance is revealed.
As a dating and chat site owner, I hear many stories where singles chat online only to be disappointed with the actual meeting takes place due to physical appearance. A recent survey our members participated in uncovered that 40% of singles feel that looks are not important, rather personality was their main focus when meeting other singles through dating and online dating services.
So what is dating in the dark? Because of the total and complete darkness, you are able to savor your meal and enjoy the company of your dates and arouse all the senses excluding sight.
Events begin where participants arrive at a normal bar atmosphere. Singles mingle and chat like any other social outing. Normally after around 30 minutes or so, participants are taken to the dining room or restaurant by waiters in night vision glasses, as this stage of the evening becomes total darkness. They are then seated with the help of staff for obvious reasons. Pre dinner drinks are served followed by dinner. There are normally six to eight people per table.
After dinner, a speed dating concept comes into play. For those not familiar to speed dating, singles are paired off for a five minute date, before moving onto the next date. Couples are seated face to face and have five minutes to weigh up their compatibility. Singles keep a list of who they are attracted to, and at the end of the night who ever has picked each other can exchange contact details to take things further.
When the introductions part of the evening finished, the dating in the dark participants leave the dining area and go back to the bar where they mingled at the start of the night. It is at this time their physical identities are revealed and they can decide whether to take things further.
Dating in the dark first gained popularity in the UK. Online dating sites here in Australia are also starting to promote this unusual, fun and intriguing dating concept. http://www.hookmeup.com.au Free online dating and chat rooms for singles internet dating

Time and Date $66.91 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles In computing, time and date are commands that are used to display and set the current time and date of the operating system. Both commands are available in DOS, OS/2 and Microsoft Windows command line interpreters (shells) such as COMMAND.COM, cmd.exe and 4DOS/4NT. The Unix command date displays both the time and date, but does not allow the normal users to change either. Users with superuser privileges may use date s to change the time and date. The Unix command time performs a different function. In Windows PowerShell, date is a short form for the GetDate Cmdlet which returns the current system time object. The Set verb of the Cmdlet is used to set both date and time.System time is measured by a system clock, which is typically implemented as a simple count of the number of ticks that have transpired since some arbitrary starting date, called the epoch. Mystery Date $19.99 A large white door located in the center of the board has five 'dates' waiting inside. Depending on how the doorknob is rotated a different guy will 'appear' when the door is opened. Players try to collect a set of four cards. Each set of four cards corresponds to one of the 'dates' hidden behind the door (apart from the infamous 'dud'). Gameplay is determined by the instructions on the square a particular player lands on. Cards may be taken from the draw or discard pile or from other players. When a player holds a correct set of four cards and lands on an 'open door' square the door is opened revealing the date. If the cards do not correspond to the date the player's turn ends but their set of cards are retained. If the 'dud' date is revealed all cards held by the player are lost and replaced with a fresh set from the draw pile. If the correct date appears when the door is opened the game is over and the player opening the door wins the game. On Being Different (Paperback) $115.82 Understanding of cultural diversity is essential to a healthy multicultural society. Fundamental to this book’s approach is the belief that a comparative, cross-cultural view of human differences and similarities enhances understanding of diversity and multiculturalism within contemporary North America. On Being Different provides an up-to-date, comprehensive, and interdisciplinary account of diversity and multiculturalism in the United States and Canada. Conrad Kottak and Kathryn Kozaitis clarify essential issues, themes, and topics in the study of diversity, including ethnicity, religion, gender, and sexual orientation. The book also presents an original theory of multiculturalism, showing how human agency and culture work to organize and change society. The authors use rich and varied ethnographic examples, from North America and abroad, to help students apply the material to their own lives, and thus gain a better understanding of diversity and multiculturalism. |

Intrapersonal Communication: Different Voices, Different Minds $69.27 Intrapersonal communication is a relatively new phenomenon for communication study and still lacks the grounding of a sound theoretical base. The first to present a developed theory of this discipline, this book's goal is to provide graduate students and professionals with an organized point of departure for their research. The theoretical section begins with an intrapersonal communication theory derived from the sociogenetic views of George Herbert Mead and L.S. Vygotsky. This theory emphasizes social interaction, the developmental nature of mind, and the crucial role of speech in creating a self, a culture, and a mind which then interact in human intrapersonal communication. This section also provides the reader with a coherent interdisciplinary knowledge base taken from speech communication, biology, neurology, cultural psychology, anthropology, sociology, speech pathology, and linguistics. The integrated theoretical perspective that results makes the study compatible with communication scholarship focusing on the social, cultural, cognitive, or performance aspects of communication phenomena. The applications section examines neurophysiological/intrapersonal communication research methods and studies to date, together with specific applications of intrapersonal communication theory to childhood language acquisition, to the establishment of gender identities, and to intrapersonal competence. The final chapter presents pedagogical guidance on how we can influence intrapersonal competence and performance as well as commenting on the current state of this study and its future prospects. The editor's interstitial commentary facilitates access by readers wishing to constuct their own theory. |
