Actually the history of platinum coins begins in the years 1828 to 1845 by the Russians Empire. By the year 1911, they started the production for the rare metal coins made of platinum. Then the Russian government used the platinum to mint around 500,000 one ounce platinum coins. And, from then it spread all over the world due to the popularity of their coins.
In the year 1975, after the Arab oil Embargo, precious metals which includes platinum, increased their price. Some small investors introduced it in Japan. Prices for platinum changes from 1970's and early 1980's and interest in platinum bullion investing spread to Europe and in United States.
November, 1983: a British crown possession issued one ounce a noble platinum bullion coin which was highly successful noble which enticed other mints to issue their own platinum coins.
Then in the second half of 1988, Australia has their own which is the "Koala" and in Canada, brings in their "Maple Leaf." Despite of the proximity of the launches, both were enormous successful which bring the level of investment demand to new highs.
Nearly ten years later, the Australian Koala and Canadian Maple Leaf were among the leading platinum bullion coins in sales annually.
Then, came the platinum American Eagle of United States which was released in the year 1997.

These were only few of the many coins that I mentioned here. There are still lots more of platinum bullion coins. There are two types of platinum coins that were created, the platinum bullion coins and the collector's platinum collector's coins.
Take note that the platinum collector's coins are more expensive than others, since most of the collector coins are limited in number. When purchasing platinum coins, be aware of their condition, the age and rarity. If ever you want your investment to last long, spot price of the coins is a great help.
Keep your platinum coins safely because it's a big asset of your investment. Since platinum is not just an ordinary metal but very precious than silver and gold coins.
You can find out more platinum coin history from ancient times until today online. If you would like to buy your own platinum bullion coins you can also do so online.

Professional Coin Grading Service $103.56 Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) is a third party grading service for grading rare coins. It charges a fee for an opinion as to the condition and authenticity of each coin it grades to provide consumers with a rating on which to judge the coin, and encapsulates coins in sealed seethrough plastic holders. Such opinions are not universal and many PCGS coins are broken out of their holders by most major dealers at major coin shows. It was founded in 1986, and is located in Newport Beach, CA. It is a subsidiary of Collectors Universe, Inc. (NASDAQ: CLCT), a company that also operates a rare comic book certification service and a grader of paper money. PCGS claims it was founded in response to perceived inconsistencies in the appraisal of rare coins, however in truth PCGS can have little if any impact on coin appraisals since dealers base their appraisals on supply, demand and their inventory needs and surpluses.
