¿ Noqueará Pretty Boy Mayweather a the Hitman?

La pelea que se llevará acabo en Las Vegas dentro de ocho días, entre Floyd Mayweather Jr. y Richard Hatton tiene a todo el medio del deporte americano y europeo hablando.

Para empezar este par de boxeadores tienen cada uno un buen número de peleas invictas _Mayweather lleva 38 (24 por K.O.) desde su debut como profesional en octubre de1996, mientras que el hombre de Manchester tiene un record de 43-0 (31 por K.O.). Pero el hecho de que Hatton tenga mayor número de peleas invictas no tiene mucho que ver con el hecho de que Floyd sea desde el 4 de noviembre del 2006 el boxeador #1 de libra-por-libra del mundo de acuerdo al ranking de la revista americana The Ring (El Anillo), mientras que “The Hitman” (El Asesino a Sueldo) alcanzó apenas en este noviembre el puesto 8 de este ranking.

Pero la realidad es que el afro americano de 1.73 m se ha construido una excelente carrera, habiendo ganado seis campeonatos mundiales de boxeo en cinco diferentes clases de peso, que van entre peso súper-pluma y peso medio-liviano; en uno de los cuales venció a Oscar De La Hoya, quien por cierto comentó que el considera que Hatton tiene la “inteligencia para soportar la presión” para destronar al “Pretty Boy” (Chico Lindo) Floyd del puesto # 1 del mundo.

A lo que el #1 respondió: “Cada uno tiene derecho a dar su opinión”. “De La Hoya es promotor de Ricky Hatton –aunque no quisiera decirlo, es lo que se supone que debe decir”. “Él dijo que iba a ganar [contra mi] el 5 de mayo ¿y lo hizo?...Ahí mismo tienes respuesta”

El “chico malo”, como dice él que la publicidad lo ha etiquetado para la mayoría de sus peleas (incluida la próxima), está listo para la batalla y tiene esperanzas de que el estilo de Hatton haga la pelea emocionante. Para el 8 de diciembre, Mayweather cumplirá 9 semanas de duro entrenamiento y justo como él dice su cuerpo está en tan buena forma, como nunca antes lo había estado.

“He intentado enfocarme como lo hago con cada pelea. Soy el que trabaja más duro en el gimnasio. Todo el mundo dice que mi cuerpo mejor que nunca. Me siento bien y es por esto que tendremos excelentes resultados” declaró el boxeador de Michigan. “Yo siempre me exijo y llevó mi cuerpo hasta el límite para conseguir lo máximo de mí mismo. Soy disciplinado. A mi no me ves en un bar luego de mis peleas, tomando cerveza. Con solo estar informado un poco sobre el deporte sabes que eso no es saludable para ti”.

Los corredores de apuestas le dan alrededor de un 1-2 de que venza a Ricky, pero Mayweather hijo está acostumbrado a pelear bajo la peso de la expectativa del público y los medios. “Hatton es un excelente peleador. Él va a hacer su mejor juego. Pero lo cierto es que toda la presión recae sobre mí en cada contienda” explicó el favorito del encuentro.

“Cuando peleas con Floyd Mayweather, peleas con el mejor. Si yo ganó, se supone que yo debo ganar. Así que en el boxeo siempre estoy en la situación no-ganes. Así es que esperaremos el combate entre Floyd y Hatton, que con fortuna va estar tan emocionante como la expectativa. Y debo decir lo siguiente aunque no es normal en mí el escoger un bando en mis artículos… Realmente me gustaría ver a Mayweather noquear al boxeador de Manchester –que quede claro, no tengo nada en contra de los británicos. ¡Ah! talvez podría usar con Hatton uno de los pasos que Karina Smirnoff (su compañera de baile en el programa) le enseñó durante su participación en “Dancing with the Stars” (Bailando con las Estrellas).
