What is happiness? If I ask this question to people they will answer it with many answers based on their own perspective of life. Some people may regard it as the fulfillment of their need while other may see it as just state of feeling. None of them is wrong anyway. But for me happiness is just a matter of choice as life also offers us many choices. It is true that sometimes life seems offers no choice for us when we have to face difficulties or even a tragedy. But that is life. During our life period, from our childhood till our adulthood we have definitely experienced an up and down graphic of life; bad thing-good things, desperation-success, achievement-losing and many more. No one has a flat or linier life graphic. Universe has program this paradox situation to help us learn and develop to become wiser and smarter person.
Let us observe children in our neighborhood. You will see that most of them could find happiness in any situation even in the middle of flood. It is because they life and think in present time. A child never worry about the future, he does not worry about what people think about him. He just as happy as he is with what he has, until adult people start to teach them to compare to other boys. It is an adult who like to group something, to make competition, to worry about the future. Adult think in a complex way that makes them unable to enjoy and appreciate the present time.
I do not say that being an adult or being unhappy is wrong. Nothing wrong with these as these is so human. I just want to say that no matter how worry we are about our future or how desperate our life now, our life will still move sometimes up and other times down. Since life is a mystery and unpredictable, we can simply reach our happiness by simply appreciating the present time. Just imagine if we know that we are going to die in 3 days, what we want to do to spend those 3 special days? Are we going to murmur and cry on our bad luck all the time or enjoy them with appreciate all small things we have had and experienced in present time. Happiness is our own choice.
