The British Virgin Islands Yacht Charter Is The Way To See The British Virgin Islands

A British Virgin Islands Yacht Charter can allow you to see more of the British Virgin Islands, known as the BVI, than you could have believed possible. The British Virgin Islands is an archipelago of over 60 islands and cays, each unique, and many of them completely untouched and very much unspoiled by civilization.

There are some of the best beaches in the Caribbean, sheltered by coral reefs, sheltered bays, coves, and in some places the most spectacular boulders. You will find this backed by lush green valleys, and rolling hills.

The best way to see all of this is almost certainly to opt for one of many British Virgin Islands Yacht Charters.

You can choose from a number of different options to go British Virgin Islands Sailing.

The first option are Crewed Charters, where you hire a captain and a crew and charter any type of boat from a catamaran to a Power Boat. You can have a cook, space permitting, drinks and all meals, and this is a very comfortable way to see the BVI

The second option is Bareboat Charter where you sail the boat yourself, and supply all food and drink, but this potentially gives you the freedom of the British Virgin Islands.

Day sailing is a great way to see the British Virgin Islands, where a group of people hire a variety of boats, some as big as 80 feet. You can take a half day or a full day, cover surprising distances, and take with you whatever you want in the way of food and drink

The Day Sailing has become popular because it serves the hotel and resort and guest house industry. People who want the genuine British Virgin Islands Yacht Charter but don't want to live on a yacht or suffer any discomfort while they are at it!!

British Virgin Islands Sailing is an invigorating experience. A day out on the water when the captain stops the engine and raises the sails simply takes you away from the world at large. You might put ashore for lunch or have lunch on board.

You may be taken to some of the best beaches in the whole Caribbean to anchor offshore and swim in the warm water perhaps only a few yards away from the beach people but in another world as you are so close to a coral reef that you can just slip overboard and hey presto you are in a multicoloured undersea aquarium.

These are the joys of a British Virgin Islands Yacht Charter, and if you want to spread your wings even further then there is Powerboating. You can hire a crew lunch and drinks, and the speed can take you to the BVI's most remote areas and secluded beaches.

Some of the best beaches in the British Virgin Islands that a yacht charter might take you to could include the best beaches on Tortola including Apple Bay, Trunk Bay, and Smuggler's Cove on the North Coast, Brewer's Bay on the Ocean Coast, as well as Josiah's Bay, and Lambert Bay Beach.

Long Bay East on Beef Island as well as Trellis Bay.

On Virgin Gorda you will find the world renowned The Bath, and nearby Spring Bay, The Crawl, and Devil's Bay. In addition Little Dix Bay, Long Bay, Mahoe Bay, Savannah Bay, and Prickly Pear Island.

Anegada has Loblolly Bay, Cow Wreck Bay.

Cooper Island has Manchioneel Bay and Guana Island has White Bay. Jost Van Dyke has Sandy Cay, White Bay, whilst Peter Island has Deadman's Bay and White Bay.

The list of beaches in the BVI is almost endless, and a British Virgin Islands Yacht Charter can take you to all these wonderful places. Go to the BVI and charter a yacht.

Half Crown (British Coin)

Half Crown (British Coin)

$114.71

The half crown was a denomination of British money worth two shillings and sixpence, being oneeighth of a pound and half of a crown. The half crown was first issued in 1549, in the reign of Edward VI. No half crowns were issued in the reign of Mary, but from the reign of Elizabeth I half crowns were issued in every reign except Edward VIII, until the coins were discontinued in 1967. The half crown was demonetised (ahead of other predecimal coins) on 1 January 1970, the year before the United Kingdom adopted decimal currency on Decimal Day. During the English Interregnum of 16491660, a republican half crown was issued, bearing the arms of the Commonwealth of England, despite monarchist associations of the coins name. When Oliver Cromwell made himself Lord Protector of England, half crowns were issued bearing his semiroyal portrait. The half crown did not display its value on the reverse until 1893. In the 1800s, the silver half crown coin was (very roughly) convertible into an American fiftycent piece, and was sometimes nicknamed the half dollar in North America. Half Note

Half Note

$74.88

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles In music, a half note (American) or minim (British) is a note played for half the duration of a whole note (or semibreve) and twice the duration of a quarter note (or crotchet). In time signatures with a denominator of 4, such as 4/4 or 3/4 time, the half note is two beats long. Half notes are notated with a hollow oval note head (like a whole note) and a straight note stem with no flags (like a quarter note; see Figure 1). The half rest (or minim rest) denotes a silence for the same duration. Half rests are drawn as filledin rectangles sitting on top of the middle line of the musical staff. As with all notes with stems, half notes are drawn with stems to the right of the notehead, facing up, when they are below the middle line of the staff. When they are on or above the middle line, they are drawn with stems on the left of the note head, facing down. Colony of British Columbia

Colony of British Columbia

$73.28

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Colony of British Columbia was a crown colony in British North America from 1858 until 1871. At its creation, it physically constituted approximately half the present day Canadian province of British Columbia, since it did not include the Colony of Vancouver Island, the vast and still largelyuninhabited regions north of the Nass and Finlay Rivers, the regions east of the Rocky Mountains, or any of the coastal islands. The Colony of the Queen Charlotte Islands and the Stikine Territory were merged with it in 1863, and it was amalgamated in 1866 with the Colony of Vancouver Island to form a further colonial entity named British Columbia, but unofficially known as the United Colonies of Vancouver Island and British Columbia to avoid confusion. The Arabian Frontier of the British Raj

The Arabian Frontier of the British Raj

$165

The Arabian Frontier of the British Raj tells the story behind one of the British Indian Empire's most forbidding frontiers: Eastern Arabia. Taking the shaikhdom of Bahrain as a case study, James Onley reveals how heavily Britain's informal empire in the Gulf, and other regions surrounding British India, depended upon the assistance and support of local elites. - ;The Arabian Frontier of the British Raj is a study of one of the most forbidding frontier zones of Britain's Indian Empire. The Gulf Residency, responsible for Britain's relationship with Eastern Arabia and Southern Persia, was part of an extensive network of political residencies that surrounded and protected British India. Based on extensive archival research in both the Gulf and Britain, this book examines how Britain's Political Resident in the Gulf and his very small. cadre of British officers maintained the Pax Britannica on the waters of the Gulf, protected British interests throughout the region, and managed political relations with the dozens of Arab rulers and governors on both shores of the Gulf. James Onley looks at the secret to the Gulf Residency's effectiveness - the extent to which the British worked within the indigenous political systems of the Gulf. He examines the way in which Arab rulers in need of protection collaborated with the Resident to maintain the Pax Britannica, while influential men from affluent Arab, Persian, and Indian merchant families served as the Resident's 'native agents' (compradors) in over half of the political posts within the Gulf Residency. - ;Meticulously researched ... an excellent introduction to the informal structures of British imperial rule ... essential reading - James Canton, Times Literary Supplement;conveys a great sense of intellectual excitement in its confident, but careful, rethinking of the British Indian Empire... Onley has the enviable ability to convey a world that has passed to a modern reader. As I read, I felt that I was with these resilient merchant families (enduring the heat!) as they offered their services to the British, generation after generation after generation. - 2001 Malcolm H. Kerr Award Committee;Through the meticulous use of family archives and local as well as British sources, this study succeeds in rescuing from obscurity key local actors in the British imperial system. - 2002 Leigh Douglas Memorial Prize Committee

British Watercolors (Hardcover)

British Watercolors (Hardcover)

$52.06

The art of watercolor has had a distinctive history in Britain since the latter part of the 18th century, when British artists first began to explore its particular aesthetic qualities. The V&A holds the UK`s national collection of watercolors, and this book showcases its breadth and diversity. Ranging from personal sketches inspired by nature to virtuoso exhibition pieces, and from colorful literary illustrations to imaginative expressions of a more private vision, British Watercolors includes works by all the leading exponents of watercolor, from J. R. Cozens and William Blake to J. M. W. Turner, David Cox, and Samuel Palmer. British Watercolors ends with examples from the first half of the 20th century, with Neo-Romantic artists such as Graham Sutherland.

British Iron Age

British Iron Age

$121.08

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The British Iron Age is a conventional name in the archaeology of Great Britain referring to the prehistoric and protohistoric phases of the Iron Age culture of the main island and the smaller islands, typically excluding Ireland. The parallel phase of Irish archaeology is termed the Irish Iron Age, and similarly locally defined Iron Ages exist for many regions of Europe, such as the Danish Iron Age. The Iron Age is not an archaeological horizon of common artifacts, but is rather a locally diverse cultural phase. Whatever is said of the British Iron Age is not necessarily transferable to any other, and vice versa, except for the common preference for the use of iron. The various Iron Ages have no common set of dates. The British Iron Age lasted in theory from the first significant use of iron for tools and weapons in Britain to the Romanization of the southern half of the island. The Romanized culture is termed Roman Britain and is considered to supplant the British Iron Age. It Aint Half Hot Mum

$71.7

The Art of Indirection in British Espionage Fiction

The Art of Indirection in British Espionage Fiction

$40

In contrast to the classical detective story, the spy novel tends to be considered a suspect, somewhat subversive genre. While previous studies have focused on its historical, thematic, and ideological dimensions, this critical work examines British espionage fiction's unique narrative form, which is typically elliptical, oblique, and recursive. Featured works include eighteen novels by Eric Ambler, Graham Greene, Len Deighton, John le Carre, Stella Rimington, and Charles Cumming, most of which exemplify the existential or serious spy thriller. Half of these texts pertain to the Cold War era and the other half to its aftermath in the so-called "Age of Terrorism."

Sir John Malcolm and the Creation of British India

Sir John Malcolm and the Creation of British India

$85

The half century between 1783 and 1833 witnessed the creation of British India. Through his writings, the leading East India Company servant, Sir John Malcolm helped to shape the historical thought of British empire-building in India. Comparing Malcolm with contemporaries such as James Mill, this book uses his works to examine the intellectual history of British expansion in South Asia, shedding light upon the history of orientalism, the origins of indirect rule and the formation of British power in southern and western India. It presents Malcolm as one of the most prolific and influential imperial ideologues of the century before the Indian Uprising of 1857.

There are some experiences which deepen with the passing of time. Exposure to and familiarity with the international art of puppet theatre is no exception. This introduction was conceived somewhere beside the Black Sea in a moment of reflection some one and a half years after the Soviet-British International Union of Marionettes Artists (UNIMA) conference in Glasgow. I have just spent the past five weeks working as visiting artistic director and designer at the Rostov State Puppet Theatre on a puppet play adaptation of One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Together with the playwright Michael Gonzalez and the puppet therapist Mickey Aronoff we have been resident in Rostov-on-Don as part of a cultural exchange between the Scottish Mask and Puppet Centre and the Rostov State Puppet Theatre. With the benefit of experience and the gift of hindsight it is now possible to make some informed reflections on the workings of puppet theatres within both cultures. These reflections are offered to those working with puppets who seek to break new boundaries and to establish new beginnings with their counterparts in the USSR.

Fifty Pence (British Coin)

Fifty Pence (British Coin)

$111.53

The British decimal fifty pence (50p) coin often pronounced fifty pee was issued on 14 October 1969 in the runup to decimalisation to replace the ten shilling note. Despite the coins novel shape, there was initial confusion amongst some members of the public, with the coin being mistaken for both the old half crown and the new ten pence piece. The coin is minted from an alloy of 75 copper and 25 nickel. Between 1969 and 1997 the coin weighed 13.50 grams and had a diameter of 30.0 millimetres. In 1997 the coin was reduced in size to weigh 8.00 grams with a diameter of 27.3 millimetres. Apart from the reduction in size the design remained essentially the same (although the original is no longer legal tender). The coin is not circular but is an equilaterally curved heptagon to aid identification. The sides are not straight but are curved so that the centre of curvature is the opposite apex of the coin. In other words, whilst the coin is of a shape which doesnt have a fixed radius about any point, it does have a fixed diameter as a minimum dimension across the face of the coin. 1973 British Grand Prix

1973 British Grand Prix

$81.25

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The 1973 British Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held at Silverstone Circuit on July 14, 1973. The race is known for the first lap pileup which ultimately caused eleven cars to retire. The accident happened when Jody Scheckter spun out of fourth place and into the center of the track coming out of the final corner, causing many other cars to collide and crash. The race was stopped at the end of the second lap, because of the pileup, and restarted over the original distance. Andrea de Adamich retired from the sport after this race due to injuries received in the first lap accident. On the first start, a swift start by Jackie Stewart brought him from fourth to first in less than half a lap. At Becketts corner (which was the third out of eight corners on the original Silverstone circuit) Stewart outbraked race leader Ronnie Peterson and took the lead. Unfortunately for Stewart, the massive pileup at the end of the first lap caused the race to be restarted and he had to start from fourth again. Half the World Away

Half the World Away

$92.4

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Half the World Away is a song by British rock band Oasis. It is well known as the theme tune to the popular BBC sitcom The Royle Family. The song was written by Oasis lead guitarist Noel Gallagher, who also provides lead vocals, taking over from Oasis regular lead singer, Liam Gallagher. The song is a slow acoustic tune with plodding keyboards, and the lyric much like Rock n Roll Star, one of Oasis most famous songs expresses a desire to leave a stagnant life in a boring city. Recorded at The Congress House Studio, Austin, Texas in October 1994, Half the World Away was first released as a Bside to Whatever on 18 December 1994, reaching #3 in the UK charts. However, the song gained mass public exposure when it was selected by Caroline Aherne and Craig Cash to be the theme tune to their sitcom The Royle Family. The series revolved around the sitting room of a lazy workingclass family and was set in Manchester, the hometown of Oasis. Although it had modest beginnings, the series soon became a cultural phenomenon in England and its theme became well known. The ATrospatialeBAC Concorde supersonic transport (SST) was the more successful of the only two supersonic passenger airliners to have ever operated commercially (the Tupolev Tu144 being the other). First flown in 1969 its service commenced in 1976 and continued for 27 years. It flew regular transatlantic flights from London Heathrow (British Airways) and Paris Charles de Gaulle (Air France) to New York JFK and Washington Dulles flying these routes at record speeds in under half the time of other airliners. It also set many other records including the official FAI Westbound Around The World and Eastbound Around the World world air speed records. British Airways (BA) is the largest airline of the United Kingdom and one of the largest in Europe. It was one of only two operators of the Concorde supersonic airliner (the other being the stateowned Air France) with a daily service between Heathrow and New York JFK. BA used the aircraft to win business customers guaranteeing a certain number of Concorde upgrades in return for corporate accounts with the airline a key factor in winning business from transatlantic competitors. Concorde made large operating profits for British Airways for much of its service life. British Airways simultaneously with Air France inaugurated the worlds first supersonic passenger service with Concorde in January 1976. While commercial jets take seven hours to fly from New York to Paris the average supersonic flight time on the transatlantic routes was just under 3.5 hours. In transatlantic flight Concorde travelled more than twice as fast as other aircraft making them appear to be flying backwards. Up to 2003 Air France and British Airways continued to operate the New York services daily.Wing span: 10.25 inch length.

New Flora of the British Isles (Paperback)

$217.39

Since its first publication in 1991, New Flora of the British Isles has become established as the standard work on the identification of the wild vascular plants of the British Isles. The Flora remains unique in many features, including its full coverage of all our wild plants, its user-friendly organisation, and its specially compiled keys and descriptions. All native, naturalised and crop plants, and all casual plants recorded five or more times since 1930, are included. In the 12 years since the appearance of the Second Edition, many new data and ideas relating to our wild flora have become available. More than 160 species have been added to the text, so that 4800 taxa are now covered in varying degrees of detail. This is the first British Flora to incorporate the new molecular system of classification based on DNA sequences, a scheme that is expected to endure for centuries to come. The whole text has been updated and new features have been introduced. All the line-drawings and half-tones have been re-assessed and enhanced, and new ones have been added, so that now over 1600 species are illustrated on 180 pages. The distributions of all the taxa have been rewritten and there has been an overhaul of the designation of degrees of rarity, with the introduction of a third, less rare, category. These revisions should ensure that this third Edition remains the essential reference source for all taxonomists, ecologists, conservationists, plant hunters and biogeographers, whether they be researchers, teachers, students or amateurs.`Stace`s Flora is a mine of information, a model of clarity and organization, and one that no serious Irish or British botanist should be without.` The Irish Naturalist Journal`The New Flora is a remarkable work.
