Ingredients:
1. 3 c. chopped fresh lavender flowers or 1 1 / 2 c. tablespoons dried lavender flowers (Redman / Phoon Huat brand)
2. 1 cup butter (leave to soften at room temperature temp for about 10 minutes)
3. 1 / 4 cup cornstarch
4. 1 / 2 cup sugar icing (or more if you have a sweet tooth)
V. 5.1 tsp vanilla extract / vanilla extract
Makes about 30 cookies or more (depending on size your cookies!)
oven set at 170 ° c
Procedure:
1. Cut the butter into small pieces using a knife
2. In a large bowl, mix together about lavender flowers, softened butter, icing sugar and cornstarch with a spatula.
3. Place mixture in a food raw pulse blender and mix gently. Stop mixing and in small quantities, pour the flour into the mixture into the food mixer.
(NOTE: If mixture becomes too hardened up or dry, add 4 tablespoons of water, add Water sparingly)
4. Mix the ingredients until a ball of smooth dough forms.
5. Submit your work surface with lightly floured parchment paper and place the dough mixed on sheet and lightly knead the dough into a ball closes.
6. Wrap the dough with parchment paper and place it in the same refrigerator for 30 minutes.
(NOTE:. If you plan to make dough advance and serve it on another day, the dough can be frozen and thawed, then baked the day of your desire to serve the shortbread)
7. After 30 minutes, remove the dough and let it thaw for a while.
8. Roll thawed dough into a log using either your hands or using the existing parchment paper.
9.With a sharp knife, cut the log into 1 / 2 inch rings to they come round, flat cookies.
10.Place pieces cut cookie dough rounds on a new piece of parchment paper.
11. Place in oven at 160 ° C for 15 minutes.
(NOTE: different ovens have different styles so keep heating even cookies you set the time to 15 minutes because they could burn before the specified time if you do not use a convection oven!)
Creative Suggestions / Ideas:
For children's parties:
1. If you're baking cookies with children in mind, try coating Surface cookie with single glazing or frosting color (cookie frosting recipe below!)
2. Cookies can be cute in different forms using cookies, simply roll the dough thawed (Step8) and use your hands or on a lightly floured work spindle to pin to flatten the dough into a sheet of 1 / 2 inch thick) and then use cookie cutters to cut out desired shapes.
3. Use ice as a food "sticks", coat the cookies with frosting, then dip the cookies lavender rainbow sprinkles.
Formal gatherings for tea:
4. If you cook with adults in mind for a high tea party more serious, lavender cookies may be artfully described with icing sugar. (See below for the icing recipe for sugar)
5. Cookies can be cut into the heart of simple shapes (see point 2) to give Lavender cookies a "chic" feel.
6. Serve the biscuits with a light fragrant tea as green tea or Chinese oolong tea. (Preferably without added sugar in tea that replaces the delicate flavor of lavender cookies)
Recipe icing sugar:
1. 150g butter (softened at room temperature for 10 minutes)
2. 250g confectioner sugar
3. 1 tsp tsp vanilla essence
4. 2 tablespoons Tea water
Procedure:
1. Beat softened butter and sugar with an electric mixer.
2.Once well combined, add vanilla and water. Beat until smooth and creamy.
NOTE: All cookies that have been frozen need to be refrigerated to prevent the baked goods from going bad.
