Mount Dora

It is just minutes from Orlando, nestled on oak lined shores of Lake Dora. In the region there are a lot of walking and biking trails, and Mount Dora, you can explore much of the area around the lake. The area abounds in wildlife and the area is known as one of the best places in the United States for bird watching.
One of the most rewarding things you can do in Mount Dora is taking a scenic boat trip along one of the channels or natural water courses which network the region. You can slip quietly into the channels and puts an incredible range of river life, including otters, herons, alligators, eagles Bald and many other fascinating species. Dora Canal, which flows from Lake has been called "the most beautiful mile of water in the world, "and banks are exploring further if you do not mind a little walking. Blue Springs
Just a short distance from Mount Dora is the remarkable natural attraction of Blue Springs. Located in a state park, it follows a "first magnitude" pumping hundreds of thousands of gallons in St. John's River. It's almost a fairy tale to explore the coming of spring, which is actually a large underground cavern - few visitors brave use scuba equipment to dive in this cave.
Embraced by lush dense forests, crystal clear waters of the spring remain at a constant temperature all year 73 degrees Fahrenheit. They make a perfect natural swimming pool and are a popular place for a stopover after a walk along one of the many trails. There is also a promenade built over the spring, which winds along a quarter-mile front on the river beyond and is perfect for some gentle walking. U.S. wildlife in this area is particularly diverse, and one the main attractions of Blue Springs is the arrival (during winter months) of a growing community of manatees. The springs are a refuge designated manatee and see these wonderful creatures endangered so closely with their sweet faces sting of the water, is a real treat. Although visitors are prohibited from approaching the manatee, it is not uncommon for a curiosity to approach a swimmer and give them a little boost!
